I’ve partnered with a Global Biopharmaceutical Organization looking for an Executive Director of Accounting. This company has 500+ FTE and has multiple sites across the East Coast and Globally. They are commercializing small molecule and protein therapeutics targeting rare disease indications. Their products are sold in over 10 countries and their Finance and Accounting team is growing! This position can be remote or onsite in Boston, MA or Raleigh-Durham, NC.

Responcibilities:

• Supervise accounting team of 10+ staff (AP, AR, Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.)
• Lead month and quarterly close financial close activities.
• Support quarterly and annual audits, financial, SOX, workers compensation, benefits etc.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, internal control documentation.
• Participate in executing and supervising the establishment of accounting policies and controls across the company to ensure alignment with SEC regulations, US GAAP standards, and Sarbanes-Oxley mandates.
• Work with global subsidiaries on month end close.
• Manage accounting and reporting for foreign currency transactions and translations, as well as accounts stemming from the consolidation process (e.g., Cumulative Translation Adjustment, acquisition accounting, etc.).

Requirements:

• Active Certified Public Accounting (CPA) License.
• Experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry.
• 10+ years of experience in corporate accounting
• Experience from a Big 4 Accounting Firm (>3 years).
• Experience in a publicly traded, global company.
• Experience managing end to end audits as well as overseeing internal and external auditors. As well as leading and shortening a month-end close.
• Ability to manage a large team and motivate and upskill team members.
• Experience on a global scale – must have worked with global regulations.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred.
