As a Business Development manager in pharma, your key tasks will include:

  • Drive New Business: Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances to ensure future growth and competitiveness.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential new products, clients, and partnerships, focusing on value, profitability, and risk for growth.
  • Partner Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers; represent the company at industry events to generate leads.
  • Negotiations and Deal Structuring: Prepare proposals, term sheets, and negotiate contracts and agreements in collaboration with program management and legal teams.
  • Business Case Development: Lead the creation of compelling business proposals, presentations, and market-based forecasts to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Market Analysis: Evaluate the competitive landscape, including the impact of new technologies or competitors, and suggest target values for business cases.
  • Reporting and Insights: Provide senior management with updates on market trends, business development progress, and emerging opportunities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to leverage expertise, build strong relationships, and deliver value across the organisation.

We are looking for a Business Development manager who has:

  • Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor's, MBA, or Ph.D. in Business, Science, Pharmacy, or a related field, equipping you with the expertise needed for this role.
  • Industry Experience: Bring at least 8 years of proven success in Business Development within the pharmaceutical or CDMO industry, with deep knowledge of pricing, drug discovery, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to make informed, impactful decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excel in both written and verbal communication, with a polished ability to articulate business development strategies.
  • Analytical Strength: Possess a keen ability to analyse market data, evaluate competitive landscapes, and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential for this role.
  • Flexibility and Mobility: Be ready and willing to travel up to 40% of the time, embracing the flexibility needed to maintain and grow our global presence.
